THE 2011 APPLE TREE PROJECT
"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future." (John F. Kennedy)
The Apple Tree Project of Interfaith Ministries (IFM) of Denton is an Adopt-a-School partner and works closely with Denton ISD to identify families in need. Organizations are brought together with hopes of assisting over 1,300 children with their essentials starting the school year.
DUUF is an Apple Tree Project host site and you can "adopt an Apple," the apple representing a real child in our community. By adopting this child, you only need purchase two sets of clothing. Information on your child is provided, including size and favorite color. We will be collecting them in the church office.
Cash donations toward this project are also accepted. In August the children will receive a complete set of age-appropriate school supplies, a backpack, his or her clothing, and a gift card for a new pair of shoes.
Our contact person at DUUF is Wendy Leung and she will have Apples for you to adopt beginning Sunday, May 22, 2011. If you would like additional information, please contact her at wleung50@hotmail, or you can also call Ann Pape at Interfaith Ministries at (940) 566-5927 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Last year DUUF members and friends adopted 15 children, so it would be great to top that number this new year!
Thank you for givingĀ attention to this Social Action:Social Witness opportunity. Choose to participate in some way in this annual, Back-to-School program of Interfaith Ministries of Denton, Inc.
